We met at the Bear Cave, a neighborhood group of The Table, which is a young adult's ministry at our church. Months and months later, a smaller group of us started a Dungeons and Dragons campaign. Between church activities, outings with friends, and pretending to kill terrible beasts with magic and swords, we got to know each other pretty well. A friendship developed first. Then I, Hailey, started thinking, "this guy is really great, I really like him." After quite a while of telling my best friend Scotti about it, she bluntly asked when I was going to make a move. So, a little over a year after having met, I told him I liked him.

A week later we carpooled to our church's Easter service, had dinner with friends, then hung out afterward to watch a  movie. He started the conversation about us dating. A conversation that extended through the night and ended with us deciding that we were going to try this dating thing. Two years, one house, dog health issues, multiple job changes, and a pandemic later, we got engaged.

 

We've been through a lot together and both feel so blessed to have one another to walk through life with and we look forward to the future together that God has for us.
